Moonshots is a waterless solid toothpaste made with Nano Hydroxyapatite, Xylitol and Oral Probiotics. Unlike conventional toothpaste, it contains no unnecessary water, allowing us to avoid ingredients like preservatives, emulsifiers and stabilizers while focusing on active ingredients that strengthens enamel, reduces sensitivity, improves mouth odor and promotes gum health.
Place one Moonshot in your mouth, bite it a few times (preferably with your front teeth) until it forms a creamy paste, then brush with a wet toothbrush for about two minutes before rinsing.
Moonshots contains 5% nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp), a biomimetic mineral designed to support enamel care, strengthen teeth, and help reduce sensitivity.

Yes, all Moonshots solid toothpaste tablets are fluoride-free. You can read more about why here. Instead, we use nHAp, a non-toxic (when swallowed) alternative that has been shown to be just as effective in helping remineralize and protect your teeth from caries.
Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is the primary substance our teeth are made of – it composes around 97% of tooth enamel and 70% of dentin. In the 1970s, NASA developed nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp), an alternative to fluoride, to counteract bone and tooth loss in astronauts after long-term space missions. As Nano Hydroxyapatite is a biomimetic mineral that closely resembles the natural mineral found in tooth enamel, It helps remineralize enamel, reduce sensitivity and repair microscopic enamel defects.
Sugary and acidic foods create acid in the mouth that slowly dissolves essential minerals from enamel – a process called demineralization. nHAp helps reverse this process by replenishing lost minerals, filling micro-fissures in the enamel and restoring its structure.
FluorideFluoride works by attracting calcium and phosphate ions from saliva to the tooth surface, creating a fluoride-rich layer that helps protect enamel. While effective, fluoride is not bioidentical to enamel – and excessive fluoride exposure can lead to:Dental fluorosis (permanent white spots)Stomach issues in childrenToxicity when swallowed in high amountsPotential effects on cognitive development
HydroxyapatiteHydroxyapatite is bioidentical – it’s what our teeth are made of. It doesn’t just coat the surface; it restores what's missing. And unlike fluoride, it's non-toxic and safe to swallow, even for children.A recent systematic review published in Frontiers in Public Health (2023) concluded that fluoride-free hydroxyapatite toothpaste provides comparable caries prevention to fluoride products in adults. In Japan, hydroxyapatite-based toothpaste has been used for over 40 years – with excellent results and safety data, especially in children.
Xylitol helps reduce cavity-causing bacteria, lowers plaque formation and supports overall oral health while adding a mild natural sweetness.
Oral probiotics help support a healthier oral microbiome by encouraging beneficial bacteria and helping maintain balance in the mouth, which contributes to fresher breath and healthier gums.
No. Moonshots is completely free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS).
No. Because Moonshots is waterless, it does not require the preservatives commonly found in conventional toothpaste.
